Wednesday, August 17, 1960: A mildly promising, mostly struggling rock 'n' roll band from England begins a two-month run at the Indra Club in Hamburg, Germany. The group consists of (from left) John Lennon, 19; George Harrison, 17; Pete Best, 18; Paul McCartney, 18; and Stuart Sutcliffe, 20. The Hamburg shows are the first ones under the band's latest name: The Beatles.

Date Arrested: August 11th, 1997 Charges: Assault with a Deadly Weapon On August 11, 1997, Slater attacked his girlfriend, fashion editor Michelle Jonas, after becoming intoxicated on alcohol and heroin. After fighting with police and screaming 'The Germans are coming and they will kill us!', Slater was arrested and charged with battery and assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentence to three months in prison, but ultimately only served 59 days.
